When you press the orca+f key combination to read teh attributes associated with a given word or other object it does not put any information to the braille display.
For example if you go into openoffice writer and bold a word and then press orca+f to check that it was bolded if you have speech on it will speak the attributes but not braille them and if you have speech turned off you get no informationat all.
