wireshark log of the TV (192...106) and Computer (192...101) running Rygel.

Using rygel 0.7.7-1~10.04~csz1 on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, and a Toshiba Regza TV (model 40SL500U) which has a DNLA media player built in, the TV did not discover content shared by the computer running Rygel.

Using Coherence, the TV did find content on the computer.

(Coherence worked, Rygel didn't)

There is a similar issue with OPPO blueray player reported (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626196) and after a lot of shots in the dark, I had to give up on that. The main problem both here and there for me is that:

1. I know that the client doesn't like the device description XML we give it but don't know what it doesn't like in it.

2. I don't have the needed hardware to investigate myself.

I'm willing to bet this is a duplicate of the OPPO bug and we just got enough information to fix that. When that bug is resolved, please try to reproduce the issue and if you succeed, feel free to re-open this.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 626196 ***

Does fixes for bug#626196 solves the problem for you as well?

I'm away for a few more weeks from home, but I will post back soon with results.

Rygel now works with our TV.
Thank you!

thanks for the report & verification. If you want to do us one more favor, please put some info about rygel's compatibility with your TV on this wikipage: http://live.gnome.org/Rygel/IOP

I see that you provided a nice IOP report on that wikipage. Thanks a lot. Having said that, you mention some crashes in there. Crashes are the most serious of the bugs so if you could please file a bug about that with the backtrace attached, we might be able to do something about it. Thanks again.
