Description leon 2010-08-30 13:05:17 UTC
I'm a coordinator or Russian language team and I need Mango login to confirm new git account for Team's member. My current git account is working fine, but I'm unable to obtain Mango password. While followig instructions from http://live.gnome.org/MangoFAQ I got following:

ssh -l lkanter mango.gnome.org mango
/home/admin/bin/run-mango-special-cmd: line 9: /var/local/mango/lkanter: Acces denied

It mean that ssh key is fine but something else is broken. Please fix mango account.
Comment 1 Paul Cutler 2010-08-30 13:38:15 UTC
This means that you've probably already retrieved your Mango password once before, and this can only be done once (see http://live.gnome.org/MangoFAQ).

To have your password reset, please email accounts@gnome.org. The Accounts team will email you a token to confirm your identity, respond with that token and your password will be reset.

Thanks.

lkanter is not a coordinator for Russian according to:
  http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/?format=xml

Please contact l10n team to have that corrected.

lkanter is in fact the coordinator for Russian, please see http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/ru.

The problem seems to be that the information that he has a VCS(SVN) account, "lkanter", is not stored in l10n.gnome.org, and as a consequence not presented in the http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/?format=xml interface, thus not making Mango approval work.

From the GNOME Git migration, we have no way to get the account id of committers (unless we individually ask each person), so this information is not updated in l10n.gnome.org anymore...
Comment 5 Olav Vitters 2010-09-09 09:13:21 UTC
Hmm.. you could sort of figure it out by searching commits-list using google. But still, if people are coordinators, Mango requires the userid. Coordinators changes do not happen that often right?
Comment 6 Claude Paroz 2010-09-09 09:31:11 UTC
The problem is that we don't know when someone receive a Git account. Often people become coordinators before receiving an account.

Could it be that a mail is sent to i18n-coordination-list@gnome.org whenever a git account is created for a translator?
Comment 7 Olav Vitters 2010-09-09 11:03:07 UTC
I could change Mango to send an email to that address whenever a Git account is created... but not specifically for l10n. This as we do not differentiate l10n Git accounts. Everything is exactly the same.

Long term I wanted to have one big list of Git accounts in FOAF format. But I don't see that happening any time soon.
Comment 8 Claude Paroz 2010-09-09 12:00:38 UTC
So no mail please. I've corrected the entry for Russian, and I've set up a task to manually update all missing entries currently.

Hopefully in the future we'll be able to address those sort of things with some central GNOME directory.
Comment 9 leon 2010-09-11 13:01:44 UTC
Does it mean that I can try "ssh -l lkanter mango.gnome.org mango" again? Will it return correct mango password?
Comment 10 Olav Vitters 2010-09-15 07:51:43 UTC
You've received instructions from Mango just now.

From the Mango sync script
UIDs to give/reset passwords:
lkanter, mateju, rranjan, sprasad, frandieguez, kusano, annajonna, fwolff, tomaszd, palosimo, xandruaf, djavanf, adiroiban, sehofstede, andys, atriwidada
(combination of l10n coordinators and maintainers)
