Description Jendrik Seipp 2010-08-25 15:39:21 UTC
When a new app window is added to a workspace automatically (e.g. by connecting an USB device) while being in overview mode, the window is correctly added to the workspace. However it would improve usability if the new window would be somehow highlighted. This way it could be easier for the user to see the changes and select the new window.

I agree with this. I thought there was discussion or a suggestion here already though. Imho I think that a slight blinking highlighted effect would suffice.

I thought we had a bug for this too. Either way, reassigning.
Comment 3 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 14:03:56 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
