Description Christer Edwards 2010-08-22 17:12:03 UTC
contact existing list administrators for all lists without a list description and request they define the field.

There are about a dozen lists without descriptions. For consistency and clarity for users, this should be fixed.

Perhaps add 'list description' as a required field for creation of a new list..

Hello,

In an attempt to clean up and standardize the mailing lists hosted at lists.gnome.org I am contacting you regarding the missing description field on your mailing list(s). We would like to ensure that each list has a proper, clear description to make it easier for users and developers to find the list(s) they need.

I am contacting you because you are listed as the current maintainer of such a list.

If you could please see the instructions on this page[1] under the heading "Things to do by the requester after the list has been created", primarily configuring a proper list description, we would very much appreciate it.

If you are unsure which list(s) I am referring to, please let me know. (To save keystrokes and sanity I am sending this via mass-bcc.)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Christer Edwards

GNOME Sysadmin Team

tomboy-list is unused, our list is hosted elsewhere and we eventually decided not to migrate. Do with it as you will.
Comment 4 Christer Edwards 2010-08-31 13:36:29 UTC
I will delete the tomboy-list.

Archives (what little there are) will be moved to the list archive page, under "Obsolete".
