Description oliver 2010-08-21 17:59:41 UTC
Guides that are switched to invisibility, are nevertheless magnetic.

So: if drawing and there are some guides active,
but just not visible, they can yield to mis-drawings.
Comment 1 Joao S. O. Bueno 2010-08-22 04:17:58 UTC
Since there is a separate option to turn off guide snapping, this is clearly not a bug. It could be an UI enhancement, if there where not so many imaginable use cases where the described behavior (unseen guides still working for snapping tools) would be desirable.

Closing as not-a-bug.
Comment 2 Martin Nordholts 2010-08-22 06:19:06 UTC
IMO we shouldn't snap to something that can't be seen.

Since we disagree, we need a gimp-developer mailing list discussion.
Comment 3 Sven Neumann 2010-08-22 12:40:31 UTC
We have had this discussion some years ago. Perhaps it would be a good idea to look it up in the archives...
