Description Franz Holzinger 2010-08-19 15:53:11 UTC
I click on a folder. Then I do not pay attention that I have moved the mouse
and unclicked the left mouse button. The folder is now moved into a another
folder. So it becomes a subfolder of the second folder. It happens easily to
not be aware of this.

Nautilus should ask me always before a folder is moved with all files inside of
it. Otherwise it is hard to recognize that a folder has been moved unintentionally.

This isn't really a bug, but probably an undo framework could take care of these cases. Closing as a duplicate of bug 167501.

No, an undo would not help if you did not get aware of the fact, that the folder has been moved.

Just imagine that you click with the mouse on a folder. Then you wanted to move the mouse cursor and did not notice that you have still clicked and unclicked the mouse button. Then the folder will be moved and hidden inside of the other folder.

You should at least show a information message box. Only then an Undo feature makes sense.
