Description Pacho Ramos 2010-08-19 11:11:50 UTC
Some of the users of systems I administrate told me that wasn't obvious what app was needed to install after the following error is shown when trying to receive files:

"Cannot start "Personal File Sharing" Preferences
Please verify that the "Personal File Sharing" program is correctly installed."

This specially affects people when they get translated message "Compartición de archivos personales" (instead of "Personal File Sharing") and they are unable to associate it with "gnome-user-share" since package descriptions are nor always translated (like occurs, for example, in Gentoo).

Investigating the issue, I found that a help was added to the FAQ section of help... but I still think would be better to modify a bit the error message and, then, people wouldn't need to search in documentation (yes, I know they *should* consult docs... but you know... :-/, even me sometimes forget about clicking "Help" button...)

I would suggest the following small notification:
"Cannot start "Personal File Sharing" Preferences
Please verify that the "Personal File Sharing" program (from 'gnome-user-share') is correctly installed."

Thanks a lot for considering
