"When working on a file using gedit and nautilus on a remote ftp server, files are sometimes clear out after I'm done editing the file. It seems to happen if the connect times out. Usually I find out when I browse to a page that I just did a bunch of work on to find that the page is now empty. The file that should have my content in it is now 0 bytes."

I can confirm that this bug does exist. It's a real pain when I discover that file is empty and I dont have any backup available.
Happens when I use gedit + nautilus on a remote ftp server.

This doesn't seem to happen with a recent version of GNOME. Also, the connection timeout issues were mainly fixed in bug 591054.
