GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 62648
status dock: compatibility with KDE
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Hi: It is stated that the status dock of GNOME Panel is interoperable with KDE's so that KDE docklets can dock into GNOME Panel. It used to be this way, but with gnome-core 1.4.04 and KDE 2.2.1 it does not work for me: when I run kppp, with selected option "dock into panel after connect", it does not dock into the doc I have in GNOME panel but instead, minimizes (iconifies) and shows in the taskbar. If I click on it in hte taskbar, I get a window - on desktop- containing this docklet (looks real starnge: rather large window containing very small docklet and lots of emty space). Apparently, KDE folks have changed their APIs.
Then this should probably not be fixed in the stable branch?
Adding relevant keywords. You can filter on the phrase 'luis doing GNOME2 work' to catch all instances of this so that you can ignore them.

This is a bug in the docklet protocol.
