nm-applet 0.8.1 uses desparected macro which have been removed from 2.21.x.

Yeah, we need GSEAL compat.  However, we can't bump the version requirements in NM 0.8.x stable branch to a GTK that was released less than a year ago, so we can't apply the patch in the dupe bug without some massaging to work with GTK < 2.18 as well.
