Description Ben 2010-07-26 16:09:04 UTC
When I add new context menus e.g. by using Nautilus-Actions then currently I can add new these context menu entries only on the right side pane.
New context menu entries on the left side (e.g. for folders in a dir tree)
are not possible.

This should be changed.

Adding new context menu entries should be possible on all panes, files and folders (similar to Windows XP WinExplorer).

Sidebars are meant to be easy ways to access a folder, and as such, do not get the same context menu entries as the primary view; this is not a bug.

Hmm, if Nautilus would like to compete seriously as a file browser with the Windows Explorer (from Win platform) it should provide at least similar functionality.

I (have to) work with Linux AND Windows. So I would appreciate to have similar tools on both platforms.

There is no reason why the context menu should not be linked to the side bar entries.
