I thought it is unnecessary to mention, but if you add a file to the POTFILES.in file of the po directory, you should add them to the POTFILES.skip file of the po-properties directory (and vice-versa). So please do not forget about that either.

No, po/ and po-properties/ are not mutually exclusive (not per file, anyway)

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
