Description Domen Kožar 2010-07-18 19:22:19 UTC
Upgraded to gnome 2.30 on my Gentoo desktop. Evolution starts normally, but when mail contents is requested, the formatting message take about 5 seconds in which about 500MB of memory is leaked. After few mails my system memory is full.

What further information do you need?

evolution: 2.30.2
evolution-data-server: 2.30.2

I'm using 4 imap and 2 pop mailing accounts. When evolution starts, almost no ram is eaten. After I switch to my Inbox view, it eats about 500MB of ram. Further, formatting an email eats another 500MB.

I have zero experience with memory profiling, if you have some guidelines I'm willing to help.

Here is quick test:

1. I opened evolution
2. Switched to Index
3. Opened random mail

Results: Evolution uses 1.7GB ram of which 800MB is used in [heap].

Ok, I have tracked the bug and found the bugger: templates plugin.

If I disable the template plugin, evolution works flawlessly.

Can you please valgrind it?
