weba actually is in the WebM container spec
Comment 2 Philip Jägenstedt 2010-07-08 14:26:01 UTC
It is? Strange that every time it's come up on the mailing list there's been no definitive answer. Last I heard "weba" could be a media-related trademark so that they'd go with .webma instead.

At the very least .webv should go.
Comment 3 Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2010-07-08 14:29:43 UTC
No, apparently it was removed since last time I looked. Your patch is correct then and I'll push it after the base release in a few days.

typefind: only associate .webm with WebM

.weba (audio) and .webv (video) were speculation on my part before
the public launch. As of yet no decision has been made on the
file extension for audio-only WebM, and I'm pretty sure there will
    never be one for video-only.

    Fixes bug #623837.
