The expected on-canvas editing tool in gimp as well as the normal text editor has failed to work in any way(the thing would freeze up when you tried to create a bounding box for the text), this might be due to a pango error or a might just be a gimp error but either way it is important and has to be fixed before the stable gimp is released

this is a major error and even worse it will not show on the error console(the comand-line thing that appears when you start the unstable gimp)
