Description David Paleino 2010-07-05 17:01:07 UTC
Hello,
originally filed in Debian, http://bugs.debian.org/588157

---8<---
Package: gthumb
Version: 3:2.11.3-2
Severity: important

I have a lot of photos from a trip, and collected those I wanted to show
in a special catalog by adding first all photos from the trip, and then
removing those I want from the catalog.

But I was surprised to see that all the photos have been actually moved
to the trash instead of only removing them from the catalog.

That is a very very bad behaviour, and I'm not sure if it was always
like that, ie before the big (and IMHO painful and stupid) rewrite of
gthumb.

Thanks

Norbert

Kindly,
David

Importance set to "major" because it causes data loss (even though it's only the Trash -- but what if the user empties it without knowing her photos are there?).

I cannot reproduce this bug, if I use "remove from catalog" the images are not moved to the trash or deleted from the disk.

Paolo,

I think the problem is that if you press the delete key, the images are moved to trash.

In other words, the delete and shift+delete keys should be re-assigned in catalog mode.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
