Description Sense Hofstede 2010-07-05 16:52:36 UTC
When the sender of a mail requests a read receipt -- i.e. when the header field 'Disposition-Notification-To:' contains a valid email address -- Evolution should ask the user to send the read receipt.

However, despite that Evolution does correctly fill the 'Disposition-Notification-To:' header field when the user itself is requesting a read receipt, no action is taken when a sender requests a read receipt.
Evolution does nothing.

I can personally confirm this bug with Evolution 2.30.2 on Ubuntu Maverick (Alpha) and I've confirmed it with 2.28.3 on Ubuntu Lucid as well.

This bug was originally reported by 'ljuksi' on Launchpad in Ubuntu at <https://launchpad.net/bugs/70643>.

At least according to bug 433536 it wasn't implemented a while ago.
Don't know if this has changed though.
Comment 2 Kip 2010-07-11 03:28:17 UTC
I also can confirm this under Lucid on amd64, using Evolution 2.28.3.

There is currently, since 3.4.0, shown a bar above the message whether the sender should be notified or not. Whether the bar is shown depends on account settings, Defaults tab, the Send message receipt option should be "Ask for each message".
