Hi,

We are using gnome in an enterprise environment with all users in LDAP (AD).

The dropdown list of groups are quite useless since all users are members in hundreds of groups. It also takes about 15 seconds before the list is populated.

There should be an option to turn this list of and have a normal text field that can accept group names or gid.

I think that a text field with auto completion would be nice but it will require the full list of available groups.

Thank you for the bug report. This is indeed a major issue with the permissions tab.

Could you file the loading issue as a separate report?

You mean about the 15 seconds before the completion? Yes, I will investigate that problem a little bit closer and file it on likewise-open.
