GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 622022
unable to get stream from http://www.fs.fed.us/outdoors/naturewatch/eaglecam.html
Last modified: 2014-04-30 11:22:30 UTC
This bug was reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/579685 Using Ubuntu upgrade to 10.04. Earlier version(9.x) worked, though sporadically. The link below gives me a message that application/xml decoder is needed. Can't find one when search invoked. Universe and multiverse are enabled in Synaptic. I can play the RTSP stream which is inside this mov by using packages from kalon33's PPA. However opening the webpage http://www.fs.fed.us/outdoors/naturewatch/eaglecam.html mentioned in the original bug description is still giving the error originally reported - after searching for a suitable plugin the following message is displayed: No packages with the requested plugins found The requested plugins are: application/xml decoder
Test with 2.30.2. I'm not trying to debug old releases that have had bug fixes releases since then.
I can confirm that i also have the same issue on Totem 2.30.2 but i am not completely convinced it is isolated to Totem. Can i get any other player to act as the streaming player? Regards from Tom :)
I too have this problem. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 with Totem 2.30.2. Bob.
As the reporter of this bug I added a comment at the end of the bug description (below the horizontal line). Sorry for not mentioning that I am using Totem 2.30.2. Please let me know if you require any further information.
Reopening as the requested information has been provided.
The browser plugin has been removed from Totem. See this post for more details: http://www.hadess.net/2014/04/good-bye-totem-browser-plugin.html
