Description Neil Redgate 2010-06-16 18:20:13 UTC
since Monday 15th June (don't know if there was an update by Ubuntu distro) the following problem with evolution 2.28.3 on Ubuntu 10.04
when I type contact name inte the "to" field of a new message, I can select which contact for the message and evolution completes the email address.
The problem is when I send the message the < at the beginning of the eamil address is moved to after the capital letter of the contacts surname so that the remainder of the surname becomes part of the username - for exaample
Neil Redgate <nredgate@ndres.co.uk> becomes Neil R <edgate nredgate@ndres.co.uk> (when I look at the message in the outbox or sent folder)
This results in the message not being sent or received.
Has anyone come across this problem and can anyone help ?

Many thanks in advance
Neil

can you check in evolution - edit - preferences - contacts? this is activate? and save the contacts in
edit - preferences - mail preferences - automatic contacts.

Thank

Edit - preferences - contacts:
Autocompletion was unselected when I first noticed this (has always been my "default").
Tried selecting auto completion - same problem occurs

Edit - preferences - mail preferences - automatic contacts:
not selected - prefer to enter my contacts when I wish to do so
Tried sending messages when this option was selected and unselected (closing evolution between switches), same problem occurs -

Neil Redgate <nredgate@ndres.co.uk> becomes Neil R <edgate nredgate@ndres.co.uk>

the issue is due to the change on bug #619347, composing an email with "One. Bug Email <email@localhost>" is enough to show the issue, it doesn't happen without the commit on the other bug
