Description Kasper Ligaard Nielsen 2001-10-11 15:01:23 UTC
Package: gnome-applets
Severity: major
Version: 0.4
Synopsis: Deskguide crashed while Galeon had popped up a window requesting installation
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-applets
Bugzilla-Component: deskguide

Description:
I was at the page http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87428, and
clicked on "Skin support added w/icons" to see the attachment.

A window popped up asking me if I would let something be installed
(probably a XUL-interface). The window that had popped up was very wide,
approx. 1.1 times the screenwidth.

I did not want it to try to install the XUL thingy (as I was running
Galeon, which hardly would accept it..!), so I clicked the Cancel
button.

Almost at the same time Bug-Buddy stepped in saying that Deskguide had
crashed on me.

Comment 1 ligaard 2001-10-11 15:18:13 UTC
It appears that Deskguide only crashes if the right side of the window
is within some 20 pixels of the right side of the screen. My screen is
set to 1024x768 - I am wondering if this has something to do with the
mapping of screen coordinated to the mini-screen.

Misc. Info:
-----------
- My deskguide fills the mini-windows with screen contents.
- Update freq. is 500 ms.
- My panel is set to size 'tiny' (24 pixels).
- Galeon is 0.12.2
- I have three virtual desktop, side by side: |desk1|desk2|desk3|
- I use Sawfish.

Can you reproduce the crash? I can't get it to crash here using
mozilla. Maybe the bug is in galeon?
