GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 621329
Banshee-1.6.0 doesn't see Xperia X10 (Android)
Last modified: 2010-06-16 19:52:05 UTC
Banshee doesn't seem to see my Xperia X10 phone (Sony Ericsson's Android phone). I'm running Gentoo (amd64), and Banshee 1.6.0, and I can mount my phone, but Banshee doesn't see it. I've got the "Mass Storage Media Player" option ticked, but no dice. I've tried both mounting and unmounting my phone with KDE's Dolphin. Here's the entry from lsusb: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0fce:e12e Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
Thank you for the bug report and the USB info. Most Android phones have 2 USB IDs, and the second is used when a "debug mode" preference is enabled on the phone. On my phone, this setting is in Applications > Development > USB debugging Could you try to find it on your phone, change it, and check if the lsusb output is different ?
Well, it's different today, but not because I turned on USB debugging. Here's what lsusb says now: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0fce:d12e Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB And if I unplug my phone, turn off USB debugging, and plug it in again, I get exactly the same thing. I sort of thought the product ID field was constant, but I guess not?
Those two ids look OK, I've added them as Android devices. The next Banshee release will recognize the Xperia X10. Thanks !
