Is just BROKEN.

There was another bug that got confused with the LC_COLLATE LOCALE stuff.

This is UNRELATED to that.

As far as I can tell, it is "assuming" that you want "base 10" numeric sorting.

This is also breaking other software - the recent replacement of gqview by geeqie in Ubuntu is affected, for example.
