When using newest stable release of cdrtools, brasero reports cdrecord, mkisofs, readcd and cdda2wav to be too old.

You might reproduce that behaviour by installing cdrtools from source or using this package: https://launchpad.net/~gnuten/+archive/gnuten-soft/+packages

but was told this would be an upstream bug.

Thanks for the report. I fixed the bug in master and for next stable release.
