GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 620904
Please add support to add more than one background/theme at a time
Last modified: 2010-06-08 17:19:22 UTC
This report was originally filed at (wishlist one): https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/590584 I have well over 100 backgrounds and if i wanted to add a whole folder of backgrounds at this time i have to add one at a time and it is very time consuming. As i recall this has been brought up in the past by a few people but i don't ever remember seeing a bug on it. At this time it took forever to add 15 backgrounds and i have not finished yet. If there is any more info needed please let me know. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open System -> Appearances -> Background (or themes ect..) 2. Click Add and start adding them one by one What should happen at least what would be great to happen: Open System -> Appearances -> Background tab Have a button to add a folder Click the add folder button Browse to folder desired and add it ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: gnome-control-center 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.36-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Jun 6 21:55:58 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427.1) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=C SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center
This is already possible for backgrounds using standard file selector functionality (ie. hold Ctrl/Shift when selecting files). For themes, there's bug 124554. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 124554 ***
