The gnome-backgrounds package is missing copyright information. The MAINTAINERS file tells who maintains the package and the AUTHORS file additionally mentions the respective authors of the background images, but nowhere actual copyright information can be found. I recommend adding a sentence like "All backgrounds are © 2010 by their respective authors." or similar.

Actually, the images were added in 2008 and some may have been created before then, so a general copyright notice may not be suitable.

I've added copyright statements for each image to the AUTHORS file.
