Description preineke 2010-06-07 16:20:22 UTC
There is a special kind of mails I get from a distinct group of people (maybe sharing the same email client, maybe outlook) which send mails I cannot move out of my Imap-Inbox.
If I try to move the mail I get following error message:

"Error while Moving messages into folder Inbox.

Cannot append message to mbox file: /home/peter/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox: No such file or directory"

This is independent of the folder I want to move it too (except that the folder name and the file location differ). And yes, the stated file exists.

The problematic emails have in common that there is an attachment called "1.eml" with a size about 130 bytes, containing header information.

Also note these bugs, which may be effects of this bug.

Please tell me when you need further information. At the moment I cannot reproduce the problematic emails myself.

This does not look like a real attachment at all.

In the IRC I was ask whether I could test my IMAP mailbox with Thunderbird, because it didn't seem plausible that the error is in Evolution itself.
I just tested it and it works fine with Thunderbird. Looks like Thunderbird improved a lot since I used it the last time.

That kind of solves my problem.

Hi preineke,
if you have time, could you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 3.2.3 or 3.0.3 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field and provide information about your distribution? Thanks a lot.

Assuming this is OBSOLETE nowadays...
