GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 620750
Allow adding of DAAP shared songs to local playlist
Last modified: 2018-05-24 15:16:25 UTC
Hi Rhythmboxteam, this is a feature request. Using mt-daapd to share my music collection with my flatmates & my laptop while I'm at university, I noticed that it is not possible to add songs of my shares to a local playlist. This is really annoying, as scanning my collection over sshfs over an internetlink is not very usable (>15000 files). So I request the ability to add DAAP shared songs to a local playlist. I know that this has been briefly discussed a few years ago on the mailinglist, but because this is the only (and imho a very good) reason why I would use another mediaplayer I post an official feature request. Link to ML: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/rhythmbox-devel/2006-August/msg00004.html As there are some pointers given in the MP posts and reading the README.daap it doesn't seem impossible to me, but as I lack time (several projects this semester -.-) and probably skill (my C is not too good, I think ;-)), I will not try to write a patch (but if nobody does, I might consider doing so after the term/exams). btw: Thanks for that nice & fast & gnome-native mediaplayer ;-)
Ok, seems like I'm stupid and opened a duplicate of #345248, though I tried to search for smiliar tickets -.- That ticket is no future request, but I guess this still belongs there... (so just close this ticket and I'll repost to the old one). Sebastian
Actually, it isn't a duplicate.
