Description Michael Biebl 2010-06-03 15:01:12 UTC
I've changed tracker-miner-fs.cfg and added a directory to IgnoredDirectories which I don't want to have indexed.

Unfortunately tracker-search still yields results from that directory and I need to *manually* reindex everything to get rid of them.

Afaik this is a limitation of tracker-store which can't delete entries from the database.

This also has a confidentiality angle imho.
If people delete confidential data, there shouldn't be anymore "copy" of it in the tracker database

Happens the same issue when a location which was configured to be indexed is removed from the config.

It seems that tracker-miner-fs only acts on new items to be indexed, and doesn't consider those which should no longer be indexed after config changes.

Moving to miners component and 0.9.x as it happens also in master.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
