Description Cédric Dupont 2010-06-02 19:19:20 UTC
Hi,

I have been thinking that with the next release of Ubuntu (10.10) shotwell will become the default applications for pictures and it will be nice to use this application for adding the way to push picture to social networks.
Because yes, sendto is able to do bluetooth, email, instant messaging so there is just social networks function missing.
And shotwell is offering this function.

I have open an enhancement request on shotwell project too to ask if this is possible to integrate in shotwell.

Thanks for your consideration

Cédric

It's a good idea, though it would only be one-way (which would be a problem for flickr for example).

Just like for bug 548549, this would require the plugins to export the mime-types of what the destination can handle.

It would also require the different accounts to be defined somewhere. Maybe libsocialweb can help?

I don't know if libsocialweb can help, but I was thinking do very simple like nautilus-sendto just pushing the picture to shotwell "publish" function.
Shotwell already take care of all process about authentification/create account when do the publish function.

But must check on shotwell what need to be done to accept call from nautilus.

Closing this as a dupe of bug 626553, as the new sharing UI has libsocialweb support. Still have to implement the "photo upload" function itself, the rest of the UI works.
