Description Jussi Kukkonen 2010-05-28 08:08:05 UTC
I have a few favorite XMPP chat rooms. Often when I join them (I think this happens at least the first time after starting EMpathy) I get a blinking status icon and a notification bubble: It has some random message from "room@server". The message is not for me and it is not shown on the backlog.
Comment 1 Jussi Kukkonen 2010-05-28 08:55:28 UTC
This may be another symptom of bug 619874: backlog messages in XMPP chatroom are apparently sometimes seen as messages from user "room@server".
Comment 2 Guillaume Desmottes 2010-06-03 14:03:27 UTC
So those messages are presented like privates ones are right?
That's really weird, this is not supposed to happen with group text chat.

I'd be interested in seeing gabble logs when that happens.
Comment 3 Guillaume Desmottes 2010-06-04 08:08:07 UTC
I'm pretty sure this bug was because of https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27913
Could you try to reproduce with Gabble 0.9.12 and reopen if needed please?
