GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619880
open a folder with path do not work any more
Last modified: 2012-03-10 19:55:56 UTC
This report was originally filed at: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epiphany-browser/+bug/502904 Upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic last autumn, where web browser 2.26.1 was able to resolve file:// URLs. Now it is web browser 2.28.0 and file:// is not working any more. Was there a change in URL handling (extension, policy) without documentation I am able to find? Or is it simply a bug in the browser (which I don't believe since there are no complaints). Help welcome, Klaus Reproduce with: file:/// => Unable to load page: Problem occurred while loading the URL file:/// file:// => suggests file:///home/kr which is my home directory => Unable to load page: Problem occurred while loading the URL file:///home/kr please see attached screenshot: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37537832/Screenshot.png ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Jan 4 11:13:43 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: epiphany-browser 2.28.0-4ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-17.54-generic SourcePackage: epiphany-browser Uname: Linux 2.6.31-17-generic i686
This has been fixed already, with the new request API in soup.
