typefinding: fails to detect certain SubViewer 1.0 subtitle file
Last modified: 2018-11-03 11:16:52 UTC
Created attachment 162022 [details] misdetected subtitle gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.29-1.fc13.x86_64 The attached file is detected as text/plain when it's actually a subtitle file. $ gst-typefind beowulf.sub beowulf.sub - text/plain
Do you know which subtitle format this is? It looks a bit like SubViewer 1.0 but those start with [INFORMATION] and have real linebreaks instead of the pipes. Version 2.0 uses [br] for linebreaks.
I have positively no idea.

Version 2.0 uses [br] for linebreaks. According to http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-81059.html this is indeed SubViewer 1.0. Maybe it doesn't have to start with [INFORMATION], but just [FOO], and according to that page SubViewer 1.0 uses | as line breaks too.
