GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619179
Evolution closes without warning
Last modified: 2010-08-23 05:00:46 UTC
Created attachment 161531 [details] crash log from apport Evolution closes seemingly at random, sometimes when reading mail, at other times I've been on another desktop using another program. Apport tells me that I don't have enough memory to report to developers, although it has successfully reported a bug on another program on this machine. I have Ubuntu 10.04, Evo 2.28.3
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

Well, I thought I'd installed Bug Buddy, but obviously I haven't as when Evo crashed today I just got the standard apport msg telling me there wasn't enough memory to make a report. :( Sorry - I'll try again.
The version of Bug Buddy I have installed is 2.28.0+dfsg-0ubuntu1, which shows as the latest. Is that what I should have installed? TIA
I got a report of sorts from Apport: The program crashed on an assertion failure, but the message could not be retrieved. Apport does not support reporting these crashes. I didn't get anything from Bug Buddy.
May be you can give a try with gdb. See http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details#gdb-not-yet-running for details about how to do this.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of Evolution 2.30.2 or later, thanks.
