Description Greg Bair 2010-05-19 21:22:57 UTC
Originally reported as Ubuntu bug #582942: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/582942

changing the extension of a jpg file to png makes eye of gnome refuse to open it. e.g. the well known warty-final-ubuntu.png files do not open because they are jpegs. renaming the file to somthing else (preferrably *.jpg) resolves the problem.

filetype detection should not depend on the name/extension.
