When sorting photos the highlighted color for the selection can distort the thumbnail make the photo look "crummy". Please see the linked launchpad bug for a screenshot of this.

Well, the primary goal when selecting files is to clearly distinguish which files are selected. And the thumbnails are just that, thumbnails - it should just give you a hint of what the file contains. Do you agree? NOTABUG?
