Description Marcus Rhodes 2010-05-13 05:15:02 UTC
When composing a message, and invoking the address-book, it is too narrow to allow me to distinguish between some of the addresses in the list on the left. It would expect it to automatically adjust its own size to accommodate the widest address, stopping, of course, at the screen's width.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a more useful description to this bug - especially exact steps or an example...

Versions 2.22-2.28 (the only ones I've used).

Start composing a message.

Invoke 'Select Contacts from Address Book' dialog with Alt+T, Alt+C, or Alt+B, or by clicking on the 'To:', 'Cc:', or 'Bcc:' (if enabled) button.

The 'Select Contacts from Address Book' appears.

The list of contacts in the bottom-left is too narrow to allow one to distinguish between 2 different e-mail addresses for the same person.

The work-around is to manually resize/maximize the window, but this gets a bit tedious as it reverts to its original, default dimensions when the message is sent, effectively forcing the user to enlarge it every time it's called.
