GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 617637
Background options in panel properties (transparency, custom image) do not apply to applets
Last modified: 2010-05-18 05:28:03 UTC
Panel's background properties do not apply to applets if the theme specifies a background pixmap. If "Solid background" or "Background image" is chosen in the panel's preferences, all the applets still use the pixmap. Bug originally reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349774 Screenshots: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24416886/panel.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/41411209/Screenshot.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47229460/ScreenshotAllThemes.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47408507/panel-transparency%20%281%29.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/42297202/semi-semi-transparent-panel.png Per https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364427, reporting for gnome-applets and not gnome-panel. Offending applets include, at least, the main menu, Tracker applet, tray, indicator-applet, clock and the window switcher.
I see this also.
Well, what applets is this exactly about? Probably up to there code. > Tracker applet Not part of gnome-applets. > tray What does that mean? > indicator-applet Not a GNOME issue.
Sorry, I don't know the exact applets name. Here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47408507/panel-transparency%20%281%29.png affected are the Gnome menu (top left), notification area (where NetworkManager is; that's what I meant by 'tray'), and window picker applet (bottom). Should a new bug be opened for tracker applet?
