GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 617232
have a hotkey to show message tray
Last modified: 2012-08-09 17:23:20 UTC
Might be nice to have a global hotkey to show the message tray. Maybe hide too? Not sure.
What you think about adding message tray in ctrl-alt-tab (and making item in it accessible from keyboard)?
it will be in ctrl-alt-tab; i didn't add it before because the tray isn't keyboard navigable yet, so it was sort of pointless. the way it works at the moment, ctrl-shift-alt-tab (and immediately release) is guaranteed to always bring you to the tray. That's not the best keybinding ever though...
Yes, this would be nice. I'm imagining a simple key combo to raise, then navigating the tray contents using the arrow keys.
Maybe using the Logo key, as proposed on bug #648507?
I agree with the sentiments in bug #648507 Id like to encourage using the logo key as a modifier (I already mapped logo+up and logo+down to workspace change, logo+t for terminal, etc). Then this could be logo+m
