GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 616832
send-by-mail eog-plugin won't work when thunderbird is the default mail client
Last modified: 2021-06-09 20:59:24 UTC
Protocol like "mailto:?attach=/path/test.jpg" doesn't supported by thunderbird. But it does by evolution.
It looks like Thunderbird banned using attachment in mailto and will not bring it back because of security reasons. What do you suggest? I think we can try to notify user that this function is unsupported in Thunderbird when is set as default.
Well, thunderbird -compose "attachment='/tmp/image.jpg'" seems to work as expected with TB 15.0 The only solution I can really think of right now is to special case if thunderbird is detected as the default mail application.
