Description Zach Goldberg 2010-04-24 20:49:15 UTC
If possible can the product "PyGi", the Python GObject Introspection bindings system, please be moved into the "Bindings" category. It is currently in "Other".

Thank you very much,
PyGi Maintainer,
Zach Goldberg

hmm, is it an official binding? It is not listed on http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointTwentynine/Bindings
Comment 2 Zach Goldberg 2010-04-25 15:03:30 UTC
PyGi is currently not recommended to be be used by the average developer because it is still unstable. Once it is fully mature though the plan is to replace PyGTK with PyGi.

Please see http://www.j5live.com/2010/04/14/gnome-python-hackfest-day-1/ and http://blog.verbum.org/2010/04/14/pygtk-performing-engine-maintenance-while-the-car-is-running/. These are blogs by John (J5) Palmieri and Colin Walters discussing the future of pygtk/pygi at the Gnome/Python hackfest two weeks ago.

I wonder if it makes sense to propose this officially to send a clear message to Python GNOME hackers what they should use.

Please see http://live.gnome.org/ReleasePlanning/ModuleProposing for more information. Note that this should be done this week.

I guess open questions are resolved.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2010-09-08 19:52:28 UTC
I'v moved Pygi to bindings. But please apply for official inclusion once the module proposal period starts, and announce replacing PyGTK to d-d-l and r-t.
Comment 6 Tomeu Vizoso 2010-09-09 09:37:46 UTC
Just to avoid some confusion, PyGI doesn't exist anymore as a module as it has been merged into PyGObject. The bugzilla component has been disabled and active tickets were moved to pygobject/introspection.
