Description maltesepiero 2010-04-24 18:56:51 UTC
Hi!!
During import operation, the import engine should ask whether to keep the source files, or
permanently delete it.
It would be more clear and efficient.
What do you think about?

If we want to add this option, I think it should be in the preferences, next to "Copy files to media folders when importing", and be only only selectable if the "Copy files... when importing" is checked.
I think asking the question on each import would be annoying.

This feature is quite risky : any bug in handling import failures could cause the loss of users' media files... So I'd be much more comfortable leave the deletion in the user's hands.

I think that would be better, if you add a "On importing, move files to collection" checkbox.
Of course will be disabled by default.

Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
