Description Michael Schmitt 2010-04-22 01:21:08 UTC
Hi folks,

I have several accounts configured in evolution and it is very
annoying to have a notification that tells me new mail is there but I have to
search it on my own. And then when found it may be very unimportant or annoying
stuff like spam. In short, having some header information in the notification
would be just a great feature! Search-folders don't work well in complex folder
structures so they won't help here much.

regards
Michael

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.

Hi Akhil,

thanks! At least I hope it will NOT be a dialog-box popping up like one suggested in the other bug-report! ;)
Do you know the exact version this enhancement was included in?

regards
Michael

This fix is available in current stable version 2.30.0. Just to clarify, you will get information about subject, sender only when you receive one new mail. If you get more than one new mail at a time, it will just show you count.
