GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 616287
Alias for hostmaster GUADEC and SSL certificate
Last modified: 2010-05-10 03:27:26 UTC
GUADEC organizers need to enable a SSL certificate for the registration process. In order to do that, they require a working alias for hostmaster@guadec.org, where RapidSSL would send an email to verify the domain and receive the confirmation later. You can point it to sysadmin or any other account. It is required to have the alias before to request the certificate and the people behind must be aware of the request. I wonder if RapidSSL[1] would be the best solution. StartSSL[2] offers SSL certificates Level 1 for free and it could be handled by the sysadmin and/or infrastructure team. Also, the StartSSL might enabled us to issue personal certificates. Nevertheless, it is important to have SSL enabled no matter which one is the best solution. If there is any problem with this request or if you have a better idea to do it, please let know. Regards, [1] http://www.rapidssl.com/index_ssl.htm [1] http://www.startssl.com/
Where should the hostmaster@guadec.org alias be forwarded to?
For now, it is going to you and gnome-sysadmin. That way, you can request what you need and we can move this along. For bugs this important please make sure to follow up on gnome-infrastructure and / or #sysadmin on GimpNet if you need it done soon.
gnome-sysadmin is ok. The same, I guess, for webmaster@guadec.org. In case of any technical problem, the sysadmin team should be aware of it. For the SSL request it is only a matter of confirming the request. Thanks!
This is solved. So, I am closing this bug. Thanks!
