Description Sarat 2010-04-19 20:28:00 UTC
While using dual monitor setup, I have two panels setup at the bottom of the same screen. One of them(bottom panel) is fixed and the other panel has hide buttons enabled. Now whenever I maximize a window (eg. gnome-terminal), the bottom of that window is hidden below the panel (second panel from bottom).

How do I make sure that a window is never hidden under a panel when maximized?

Thanks for your help.

I can confirm that. However for me this only happens with a dual (or more) monitor setup where one of the monitors is below the other. I do not know of a workaround except for placing the monitors side-by-side. Nevertheless a bugfix would be welcome.

Note that this happens in horizontal configurations as well, if the gnome panel is a left or right-aligned panel. The requirement is that the panel be on the same screen edge as another monitor.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
