Accroding to http://people.gnome.org/~fpeters/reports/299.html deskbar-applet uses the deprecated functions GTK_WIDGET_NO_WINDOW and GTK_WIDGET_TOPLEVEL.

I've submitted a patch that fix this issue in bug #612712 .
