Description Benjamin Dörr 2010-04-09 07:58:32 UTC
When trying to drag&drop a folder from a dav:// location nautilus doesn't copy the folder and it's contents, but instead it copies a file with the folders name containing the DirectoryIndex (HTML CODE) for the folder, provided by the server.

I don't know why this happens, same server works fine when copying the folder to clients with Win7, Vista, XP and also when trying to copy it via console (cp -r ~/.gvfs/WebDAV on XXX/FOLDERNAME/SUBFOLDER ~/TARGETFOLDER) it copies the folders contents just fine, so the bug must be in nautilus somewhere...

Error occured on Ubuntu 9.10 and previous on any nautilus release until now

Sorry for the crappy submit, I'll be a little bit more specfic:

Please describe the problem:

If you try to copy a folder from a WebDAV location nautilus fetches the DriectoryIndex and downlands it as a file named after the folder instead of copying the folder and it's contents.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Nautilus
2. Connect to any WebDAV Server by typing dav://server_adress in the location field
3. drag&drop any folder to a local destination

Actual results:

In the local destination apperas a file named after the folder containing the servers DirectoryIndex HTML-Code for the folder

Expected results:

The folder and its content should be present at the local destination

Does this happen every time?

Yes

Other information:

If you bind the ~/.gvfs Directory to another location (for example to ~/gvfs) and the enter the folder through there you can copy the folder and it's contents as expected, so the problem might be how nautilus converts its requests when knowingly accessing remote locations
