Description John Webster 2010-04-08 22:58:40 UTC
I am running Evolution 2.30.01 in Mandriva 2010.1.

Any attempt to backup settings results in the immediate appearance of the "shutting down Evolution" progress bar, followed by a complete shutdown of the package (thankfully, the actual data appears to remain intact).

Under normal circumstances (eg, in 2.28.03 in Ubuntu 10.04), there would be an initial pause while background processing takes place, followed by the appearance of a "backing up" progress bar, which remains active for some time, and only then by the appearance of the "shutting down" progress bar".

Finally, despite the "restart after backup complete" box having been ticked, Evolution 2.30.0.1 does not then restart automatically - that may actually be logical enough, since the backup has certainly not been completed.
