Description Massimo Cora' 2010-04-07 17:35:37 UTC
It would be great to have a shortcut on file manager to quick find files or text inside them.

Edit->Search->Find in files...

is too slow and 'hidden' to reach.
In big project an user may want to search only in a subdirectory, and the 'find in files' gui is scary even for the average user.

Thanks for your patch, it's working but I think the request of Massimo is a bit different.

Your patch adds a Find in Files item in the popup menu of the document manager instead of the file manager. In addition, I think the goal of having it in the file manager is to fill the directory combo box with the file or the directory currently selected in the file manager. You will have a similar issue than in your other patch to send this information to the find file dialog.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all
old feature requests in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/anjuta/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
